Statement Denim Jacket

stella mccartney denim jacket

The other day, I had lunch with Natalie from Coquette, who is one of my first blog friends…we go wayyyy back. Natalie has a fantastic way of  bringing casual chic to the next level. I really love this Stella McCartney for H&M (remember that collab?) denim jacket, which doesn’t look like any other jacket I’ve seen around. The great part about getting pieces that aren’t a key trend, is that a person can’t date them with a naked eye. You, know like gladiator sandals, that’s so 2007, marching band jackets– so 2009. It’s not bad to have trendy pieces, and you absolutely should be able to keep things longer than a season.  Which is why getting something a little different, like a statement denim jacket, it’s loaded with beautiful details, piping, exposed zippers, the curves of the cut, you’ll have a statement piece for a much longer time.

okay i have to admit i’m entirely on the gladiator bandwagon 3 seasons in…and i do own a denim biker jacket (gap so i couldn’t resist!) as well as a khaki military jacket. however, i also firmly believe in everything you said above – it’s nice to be able to pull out a chambray blazer from 15 years ago and see that when i put it on it still fits right in with everything i own now!

natalie looks great in her denim jacket!! love it!!
