Introducing: Size 15 Jeans

Size 15 was never really a size before. Sizes are typically even numbers, i.e., 2, 4, 6 and so on. Good American jeans (the brainchild of Emma Grede and Khloe Kardashian) is one of the few companies that sold sizes from 00 through 24, and the brand prides itself on being the most inclusive denim brands on the market.

So it’s no surprise that this was the brand to come up with size 15.

When Good American’s return department noticed a disproportionate number of returns on sizes 14 and 16, they did some investigating. What they discovered was a greater jump between size of the jeans patters for 14 and 16 than any other size—because that’s where the transition from regular sizing to “plus” sizing happens. Good American spent a year perfecting a bridge for this gap, and finally have released what they’re calling size 15.

I’m super curious to know whether this reduces their returns, and if the odd size will catch on with other brands. Please comment if you’ve tried it!
