Do you hear that? It’s the sound of New York City breathing a collective sigh of relief – New York Fashion Week is over. That unique and electrifying energy has moved East to London, and I’m a bit sad to see it go. Granted, it was one of the more chaotic and sleepless weeks of my life since moving out here, but the glamour, the excitement of seeing fresh collections, the parties – those things I will miss.
One thing that will stay with me as the fashion frenzy moves on are the photographs. Our man on the streets, Nando Alvarez did a fantastic job chasing down models, editors, bloggers and revelers to bring you the best denim looks on the block. For today’s post, I’ve selected three of my favorite shots, which also happen to be three of my favorite looks – and all feature one similar element: a rolled cuff.
Upon closer inspection, I also noticed that all three of these women have tucked in their blouse or top, and added a belt, and they’re all wearing laced oxfords. The overall effect is the perfect mix of feminine and masculine, casual and put-together. I suppose it’s no surprise I gravitate towards these images so much, as that’s the ultimate balance I try to achieve with my denim as well.
