Truth be told, my first reaction when I see any form of acid washed denim is BLEURGH. It’s like I’m conditioned to hate it; what can I say, I personally still remember the 80’s.
But upon noticing it around the streets/webs of late, I decided to forgo my prejudice and think of acid wash more like a challenge. I mean look at this gal on the far left – albeit her jeans have just a hint of that acid look, but she makes it all so modern in the simplicity of her styling choices.
Sometimes it’s fun to embrace things that repel you – whether it’s a color, a silhouette, or a trend from another era. How can you make it work and make it yours? How can you make it SO GOOD that people notice the look, not the item?
