Street Style: Spring in NYC

Jennine and I often find ourselves out and about in NYC flitting around from place to place in order to get content for her several sites. Every once in a while we get lucky when we happen upon a street walker with great style. I love New York in the spring – it literally brightens my life. Birds are chirping and people finally break away from their indoor hibernation of sorts that the NYC winters force us to do. Which is why it’s also the best time for hunting the streets.

Full length bottoms disappear to make way for shorts, skirts and leg baring dresses sans tights! I really get excited about this. I need seasonal changes and when we spotted this girl it reminded me that we have a full warm weather season ahead of us to be giddy about! I seriously feel like a new person come spring…. there’s just something about it. Maybe because I’m a spring/summer baby… They do say (or I say) that you tend to favor the months surrounding your birthday. Or, at least, I do now. Maybe in the future I won’t embrace my climbing number, but such is life…

Before I digress any further, I’d like to get back to the topic at hand. You see, this girl caught my eye because she really epitomizes everything I love about spring time. The denim layer, the light weight short sleeved knit, shorts, flats, canvas totes, shades and notice the venti iced coffee (side note: in case you didn’t know, I’m an out of the closet caffeine addict…) in the left hand corner… tres NYC spring chic! Cool summer wears and iced coffee equals my favorite things about the spring.

Dang, round sunglasses are everywhere! I seriously need to pick up a pair. Love this girl’s look, especially the blue denim peeking out under the gold knit. Super cute for spring!
