NYFW: Rock & Prep

In style, nothing keeps things fresh better than juxtaposition. Call me the anti-purist, but I love it when things are shaken up a bit. Take for instance the rock star reading the Preppy Handbook, with a crisp white button down shirt, paired with an overly washed and distressed pair of jeans,  and a summery sandal. Yeah, it’s after Labor Day, but what the heck, we’re not going to run into Serial Mom (you know the scene where she killed Patty Hearst for wearing white shoes after Labor Day) so this fall it’s all about mixing things up.

i can’t get over the perfection behind this picture. you described her look perfectetly – the prep with some rock star thrown in. it is mighty hard to look that pretty in those kind of jeans. this girl is killing it. simple perfection. i love it.

I love this look in its entirety. It’s simple perfection from head to toe and btw I had no idea about Serial Mom and the white shoes after Labor Day. Intense!!
