The patches-on-denim trend has been happening since way back in 2013. We reported then on the 3.1 Phillip Lim AW13 collection, which sparked memories of riding bikes as kids in the seventies in our patched jean jackets. Those images also had us hunting around for fun patches so we could DIY our own personalized version of the look for a few thousand less.
Since then, Levi’s has launched a personalized denim jacket, and plenty of style bloggers, street style stars and brands have adopted the trend. Last year’s Gucci phenomenon really had our imaginations going, and Valentino’s resort 2017 collection has only stoked our interest.
So I figured it was time once again to share some resources for finding your own patches. Love unicorns? There are patches out there for you. Obsessed with Kiss? There is, of course, a Kiss patch available. Hate school? Say it with a patch.

Moto not your jam? Graham Embroidery can make you a custom letter, in CAMO, no less. They also have plenty of other designs to choose from.
While we’re going down the military route, why not pick up some vintage military patches?
Want your patches to command more authority? Get some patches with stripes, man!
For the indie crowd, go for something a bit more artsy with this incredible stag and eye patch.
Why not go all out and wear a full back patch? I like this creepy two-headed-cat one, because the only thing better than a creepy cat is a two-headed one. One Hand Printing has a wide variety of nature-inspired patches, tee shirts and the like.Gucci]
