When it comes to jeans, all the hot trends are running in the family.
Boyfriend jeans, mom jeans (for that 90’s look)… and believe it or not… DAD jeans. If you’re confused, don’t worry, I was confused too about boyfriend/mom/dad jeans. And still there are a lot of jeans that are in the grey zone of familial relations, but not to worry, it’s not the taxonomy that matters, but the overall look.
I’ve noticed on the street style blogs a particular type of cut emerging: straight legged (boyfriend jeans tend to be tapered at the bottom) baggy, and almost dragging on the ground (unless rolled up). They have that look like they came from Sears’s Levi’s section (that’s where my step-dad gets his jeans) but somehow, they look so good right now. I never thought boyfriend jeans would stick around (and I was totally wrong) so at least with this iteration of denim trends, you can just snag your dad’s old jeans next time you go visit your parents.
