5 Spring Denim Trends to Try Now

Can you remember the first time you succumbed to a denim trend? I can. Eight years old, over sized, acid washed denim jacket. Denim never goes out of style. It’s denim. But, over sized acid washed denim jackets, they do.

Fast forward to Spring 2013, and we’re experiencing a re birth of some pretty funky denim trends. I’m loving it. Classics never fade, but it’s fun to mix things up with on-trend denim. We’re seeing more color, patterns are prominent, patchwork up the wazoo (more on that later), embroidered denim, and more. Here are five bold  denim trends to work into your wardrobe this season:

Printed Denim

Printed Denim has serious stamina. And rightfully so. Carried over from seasons past, we’re seeing tons of florals and abstract prints. I love these MOTHER Pocket full of Posy Jeans.

Striped Denim

This one takes some thought when styling, but when paired right can be a total winner. These Madewell Shorts are adorable.

Heavy Patchwork

The 1960s called, and they want their patchwork back. The different options of patchwork available are endless. It took me awhile to warm up to this one, but I’m starting to come around. These Current/Elliott Stiletto Jeans are a great skinny style.

Embroidered Denim

It’s time for some detail. While you have to be careful not to over do it, if executed well embroidery is beautiful. These Free People Shorts are a great option.

Colorblock Denim

I’m really excited about this trend, and can’t wait to pull the trigger on these MiH Breathless Skinny Jeans.

Love the monochromatic floral pair, the colorblock ones are cute but I’m afraid they might make my short legs look even shorter :/

I am not usually into printed denim, but that white and black pair is just gorgeous.
