If there’s one “fashion rule” that I believe needs to be abolished, banished and finished for good, it’s that whole “no white after labor day” thing — especially white pants. I sported some white flares for winter last year, and I stand by the sentiment in 2013.
You’ve seen these James Jeans before, I can’t seem to stop wearing them. I had no idea how versatile a pair of off-white jeans could be. Less shocking than white but still boldly light, they’re a brilliant winter wardrobe staple. Here’s why:
- Think about how nicely your tall brown boots will pop against off white, versus dark denim?
- A monochromatic look of layered neutrals, whites, and dove greys? So chic.
- Pairs perfectly with a chambray or denim shirt.
- They will still look fresh in spring and summer – all year wear!
Today I layered up with my Madewell chambray boyfriend shirt and hat, Dolce Vita booties, a vintage fur coat and vintage wool scarf that matches my jeans (too well?).
