Wearing : Seasonless Denim Shorts

I live in a place where seasons don’t really exist. It’s pretty much the same mild climate all year round. With that in mind, it’s not advised to wear shorts in San Francisco. You can do it, at your own risk. My answer to anything when it comes to clothes, layering. Layers can make anything in fashion possible. Short shorts, low cut dresses, mini-skirts, sequins, sweatpants, you name it. Layers will make it work. With my denim shorts, I tend to pair them with a long cardigan or a jacket to balance things out.

So when the shorts and tights trend came around, I was really happy, because it was a way to wear shorts and still keep warm. If that’s what you want. It’s summer, and yeah, I’m wearing a sweater, army jacket, knit tights, and fleece lined boots, and I’m comfortable. If it’s hotter than heck in your neck of the woods, I can attest that army jackets will still be a good thing to wear come fall.

oh my gosh. Just seeing you in stocking under shorts is making me sweat! with the heat wave in montreal, it’s hard to imagine it being cold anywhere .. but you look lovely!! great booties too!!

San Francisco weather drives me crazy, sometimes. I walked out of the house in leggings and a tunic and a coat and I was freezing. It’s July? Really? But I wouldn’t move out of the city for anything.

I think the shorts and tights trend is a little strange, like the sandals and tights, but you pull it off really well. Maybe it’s the shoes. Those are fabulous!

I love the tights with shorts look. And it is definitely more acceptable in San Francisco than bare legs! Luckily I have been able to leave the city on the weekends for a dose of real summer weather. 😉

It was so warm last month I didn’t even think about tights or layers. Now I need to pull out all my winter/fall gear.

Love the thick tights! I don’t think I’d be very happy in a seasonless place. I often think of moving to Hawaii, but then I think how unhappy I’d be with perpetually perfect weather….Anyway, very nice ensemble!

They say that Mark Twain came up with “the coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco.” I don’t care who said it, but it’s 100% accurate.

Not that much better in SoCal, though. I haven’t seen the sun in almost a week and it’s cold.

Come winter and I’ll as always ditch my jeans and skirts in favour of shorts, either denim or even tweed… Just can’t live without them when it gets cold! 🙂
