What happened to the dress? For a couple of years there, dresses dominated my wardrobe. Though lately, I haven’t worn a dress in ages. Really! Ages. While jeans are fantastic, they’re not always appropriate. So I’ve invested in a few pairs of new pants to fill the void dresses left behind.
Why have I gone back to pants? Well, in times past it was hard to find a good pair that fit well it enough. There are a lot more elements to a good fit than with a skirt. With pants, you have waist/hips/rise/leg/length to factor in. It was challenging to find the perfect pair. However, the past few seasons there are a lot more styles available so it’s easier to find something that works for my figure, so adding pants to the rotation had proven to be completely addictive.
I just bought this pair of Theory Lison High Waist Pants for the fall/winter months. Beautifully textured, crisp and richly colored, this pair of pants is not only versatile and chic it’s also practical. For the cold days, these pants have 93% wool/5% polyamide/2% elastane. They’re warm and the added stretch to the fabric to makes the most comfortable outfit. I have to warn you, that I’m going to be wearing these a lot this winter… even today being quite chilly, I’m quite alright.
If you’re a bit nervous buying pants online, I hear you. Pants can be a bit trickier than jeans because the size differentiation is greater between brand to brand than premium jeans. I just followed my own how to buy jeans online advice and applied to to pants, and lo and behold, the fit of these pants were perfect.

These look so cute on you!
Shopping for trousers definitely take some time, but now there are so many more options since they’re back on trend. I love the way how they’re comfortable, but effortlessly sophisticated.
Lots of Love,

GREAT pair of trousers. I full heartedly agree with you on the demise of the dress, although once it’s chilly enough to wear tights again I may revert. Love your scarf too! How cozy!

I love the combination of the cozy socks with heeled sandals and cuffed trousers! It looks great on you.
OMG! These pants look wonderful, and combined with those socks and sandals…I tend to wear similar trouser shape to work but with ankle boots. This is totally new, I can’t wait for the summer to try this on (because no socks would fit my sandals together with my feet

I can fully relate to your experience of going from skirts to pants. I used to wear skirts and dresses all the time because finding a fitting skirt was so much easier than finding fitting pants. But now, there are so many fab styles of pants there is something for everyone! My newest obsession is harem pants. They’re so comfortable and they can be dressed up for work or dressed down for casual days. Love them!
Great post! Those slacks look great on you!
