Street Style: Light Wash Jeans

by Jennine Jacob

Summer has come in full force here in New York City, as are the styles we’re seeing on the streets. I personally pulled out all my light wash jeans last weekend to cleanse the winter pallet and to bust out the summer one. Sometimes we may think ‘jeans are jeans’ but there is a distinct relevance to wearing the light washes on hot days. Maybe it’s reflecting the sun? Maybe the lighter colors compliment better the rich hues people tend to wear when the sun is shining out.

We caught this lovely lady wearing a wonderful printed tunic that perfectly illustrates the effortless chic of a sunny summer afternoon. I really love the nod to Moroccan geometric motifs and the beautiful color, it wouldn’t work as well with a darker rise, and I’d even pair it with white jeans, or a pair of white flared jeans. Either way, it’s an excellent look for taking it easy on the weekend.

Happy Monday!

PS. Oh yeah, I noticed too the red bag, also spotted here. Gotta figure out what take out this bag is coming from!
