Every time I see Catie from Cuffington, I always have to admire her impeccable style. Not only is she near six feet tall and has the most gorgeous red hair, she’s also always appropriately dressed and never over the top, or looking the same as every other style conscious woman on the street. “I tend to go for style over trend” she says as she’s showing me her denim collection one afternoon. Her tastes in denim, are usually mid-rise, with a slim leg to go with her long and lean figure. While she doesn’t hang onto every pair of jeans she’s bought, she’s worked out a formula to maintain in her wardrobe.
With jeans, “I always have one blue, one black, and one grey” but then she has a few other pieces, like a pair of black JBrand jeggings a trend that she liked more than she thought she would. “J Brand is honestly my favorite” because they’re simple, clean and classic. She goes over the details of the jean, noting the ‘fake front pocket’ but the real back ones, and the zipper, “it feels more like pants than a pair of regular leggings.” As much as I love my leggings I can understand how not like real clothes they feel.
When I asked her how she likes to wear her denim, she said she’d rather go with flats than heels.
“If you wear jeans and a t-shirt, wear a blazer, a fancy pair of flats, and nice accessories. If you were to take the outfit and swap out the jeans for a more dressed up pair of pants, it should still work.” When I asked her which jeans are on the wish list, she pointed out a pair of Current/Elliot paint splatter jeans, ‘I love splatter, but how it’s also not too much.’
