Lately I’ve been looking for other kinds of jeans. I love skinny jeans like you wouldn’t believe but there is only so much you can talk about when it comes to skinny… don’t worry, I’ll come back to them soon enough. For now, I needed a break, and was looking to fill holes in my denim wardrobe. When I came across these J Brand / Hussein Chalayan Jodhpur Jeans I wasn’t sure if I would love them or hate them when I actually put them on, so it was a gamble, because they were on sale, final sale, on the internet.
And I took the gamble anyway.
These jodhpurs have a beautiful clean dark denim wash, with a curved leg cut on biased fabric. I love the zipper detail on the front, which gave me several ideas to style. The jeans have to pockets in the front and no pockets in the back. Like all J Brand Jeans, there is little to no branding except a small “J” on the button.
I mentioned yesterday that the skinny slouchy denim look has really intrigued me, mostly because it’s more comfortable, and relaxed, and somehow less exposed as it doesn’t show every curve of your leg. The J Brands are great, I am truly a fan of the label, and these did not disappoint. At first the jodhpurs fit a little small, but they did stretch quickly to my figure, after a few wears, they still kept the shape, and stayed very crisp. As a short woman, I’m used to jeans fitting too long, but, with these, the length allowed for ruching at the knee or all the way up the leg.
All in all, I really like these jeans. They were a gamble, and I even wore them to a fashion shoot for another blog, and at first the stylist was skeptical, but when we tried them on, everyone agreed they were a great jean. I wouldn’t call the jodhpur jeans a staple, but they certainly add to versatility of my denim wardrobe.
