Damsel in Distressed Denim

How much distressing on denim is ok before it gets out of control?  Personally, I prefer just enough distressing to look loved. While I personally have always liked extreme distressing on other people, for myself…I leaned toward crisp jeans and wearing them in the old fashioned way. But pre-distressed jeans offer a shortcut and also more control over how they wear, for instance, a lot of my jeans wear in unwanted areas. Figuring out how much distressing works, start with the details, and work your way into it.

This lady paired a mildly distressed pair of skinny jeans with distressed knee high boots and a leather jacket. I love the tribal details with a patterned bag and scarf, but the whole outfit all together looks worn, does indeed look loved.

What looks better than a loved piece of clothing?

These jeans look like they have the perfect amount of distressing. I agree that with too much distressing, the jeans just look ratty and messy. I love how the jeans are paired with the brown knee-high boots and brown jacket, topped off with a lovely pink scarf! I need more scarves in my wardrobe… 🙂
