Cult Danish Brand Ganni Celebrates Spring With Its First Denim Collection

I didn’t discover Ganni until fairly recently, but I quickly became obsessed with the Danish label’s perfect day-to-night dresses. But the brand, which launched in 2000, is anything but a one-note wonder. It’s also a go-to for perfect vintage inspired knits, slogan tees, hip suiting, plus alternative sweats and sneakers.

Up until now, Ganni seemed to make everything but jeans, but that’s now remedied with its spanking new Denim Runway collection. The jeans are oversized and have a certain JNCO vibe. Some of the denim jackets are VERY cropped, and all of them have a relaxed, wide sleeve, which creates a fun play on proportions.

Look for powdery hues in lavender and lemon, as well as a tangerine orange, traditional blue and bleached-out denim. My favorite piece is the extreme light-wash denim maxi skirt. I’ll be pairing that with dad sneakers and graphic tees all summer.

The 10-piece ready-to-wear denim collection is a collaboration between Ganni’s creative director, Ditte Reffstrup, and  Swedish designers Bengt Thornefors and Christoffer Svensson of bed linens brand Magniberg.

The designs are available at the Ganni website as well as at Net-a-Porter, and prices are in the $400-$500 range .
