Blogger Denim Style: Fending Off The Winter Chill

Even though March is just around the corner, New York still feels like it’s deeply plunged in the depths of winter. Biting wind and (occasional) snowfall are keeping most of us layered up and bundled in coats, scarves, hats and gloves.

Personally, I can’t fathom voluntarily letting icy winter air get right to my skin through the holes in distressed denim – but Veronica from Bittersweet Colours and Blair from Atlantic-Pacific make it look downright practical. Perhaps with layers on top and pointy-toe shoes, I could pull this off, too! (I think the key is a great turtleneck, don’t you?)

Conversely, Laura from On The Racks is layering up in a way I find a bit more realistic – I love how she’s put her puffer vest under her denim jacket instead of over it, with cool J Brand velvet pants and flat booties. To finish off her “maybe I could really duplicate this” look, her Madewell beanie is both warm and stylish.

Who’s look is your favorite?
