Black Skinny Jeans for 4 Occasions

Of any item in my wardrobe, probably the most used, the most relevant, the most versatile piece are my black skinny jeans. I have a pair from Hudson that was sent last year…and I tell you, they are the one item of clothing I wear the most.

Even though my life is pretty mellow, I spend a lot of time at the computer, but generally speaking, I don’t go out partying until the wee hours of the morning, nor do I spend the weekend scaling the sheer face of the Half Dome. But I do have different occasions to wear my jeans to.

Easy Days

This is what I’m wearing today, actually. It is technically work, but I work at home, and this outfit is practically one step away from pajamas. Worn with a long tee shirt and a cardigan, and a slip on pair of clogs for when I have to run to the store, it’s the most comfortable outfit ever. A necklace will help dressing up without having any effect on the comfort.

Weekend

For weekend dinner parties, terrace barbecues, and strolling around darling nearby towns, or just when I’m in the mood to be a little vintage inspired. I’ll wear my skinny jeans with a cute polka-dot blouse and classic denim jacket, and a pair of low heels. It’s casual,  but not sloppy.

Work

The easiest way to dress up a pair of jeans is to pair it up with a blazer. This classic black blazer I bought a year ago, and wear it all the time, it’s another pillar of my wardrobe. Here I’m wearing it with a nude tank top and an heirloom beaded necklace. Honestly I don’t go into the office that much, but when I was working in one, I did the jacket and jeans combo on a regular basis.

Going Out

If you’re wondering about the jackets… I have a lot of jackets. It’s nearly impossible to go anywhere without a jacket where I live, any time of year, and that’s one of the big reason why I live here. I love wearing jackets and cardigans. Going out, I like to wear brighter colors, bolder patterns. This vintage blue jacket just so happens to go with these strappy heels, and a striped skirt pulled it up as a strapless top.
