Black is the new black…

You can’t go wrong with black skinny jeans. You just can’t. If there was a fire and I had to grab one outfit, you better believe I would grab one of my many pairs of black skinny jeans. The rest of the outfit would depend on what time of year it was, right now, it would be a cozy cashmere sweater. Those are the best.

This lovely lady at the Farmer’s Market, is wearing straight black, the details make the outfit. The black skinny jeans have just a little bit of sheen like the Resin Denim Aslan Mid Rise Skinny, or the JBrand Brigade Wax Camo Jeans. Her Sam Edelman flat over the knee suede boots,  super soft leather jacket, amazing chunky scarf (I just love those) and gorgeous Celine bag  all goes together as the ultimate chic in denim attire. Not over the top dressed up,  not sloppy, casual done right.

I’ve been meaning to get myself a pair of over the knee boots for three years now, it just hasn’t happened. For some reason I want them, but in reality they’re hard to pull off unless they’re the perfect pair. It’s really easy to go stripper style in a bad way with over the knee boots. But she’s done it right here.. I’ll have to start looking again!

i’m loving the all black look – especially when it involves moto jackets and otk boots! i just bought a pair this past weekend (Tate style at Bakers) and absolutely love them! i was definitely cautious to find ones that wouldn’t look too stripper-ish. 🙂

She has carried this entire look off beautifully. I’m a big fan of black skinnies, too – and the black on black is incredibly chic. I especially love the different textures thrown in with the leather and the suede – and the fluff of the grey scarf. The peek of white t coming out below the jacket adds a little separation too. Okay I’ll stop here, but could go on about the bag.

Oh. And I’ve tried OTK boots last year and this – I think I’ m too short. Somehow my legs suddenly shrink! Not fair! If you find any that work, please let us know 🙂

    Have a great weekend,
    Carrie

I love this look, head to toe off-duty chic. JBrand jeans rule I am saving for a pair of black waxy stealth…day and night jeans all in one just for the holiday season!

kileen…oooh good catch! those boots are amazing and the price is really good. really good.
carrie, haha, i was thinking the same thing about myself… there are a lot of things i’m too short for, like the top shelf at the super market. why did they make it so high?
thatoutfitgirl…absolutely! i agree, wax jeans are next on my list!
    caroline, it’s celine, natch. 😉

i think the secret to over the knee boots is the heel. i have one pair and they have very high heels, which means i wear them maybe three times a year. i love them, but it’s so so hard to not look striper-ish in them, especially when you’re tall.
i heart black skinnies: always my go-to!

I just rocked my first pair of black skinny jeans. Of course I paired them with dark brown boots, instead of having an all black look, but I love it. I was always worried that my thighs would look huge. Maybe it was the black, but they were actually very slimming!
