Belted Chambray Shirts

by Jennine Jacob

The other day, The SF Style noted that they were seeing chambray shirts everywhere. I have mine, and I love it. I wear it all the time. All the time. Out on the streets, I too have seen chambray shirts, mostly worn by men, but also by women in various ways. Including the way Love Maegan wore her chambray shirt with a dress in our interview with her last month.

I couldn’t get that image out of my head, living in a place where it never really gets warm enough to wear summer dresses, yet summer calls for summery attire, the chambray shirt can work so well as an alternative to a cardigan or a jacket. Lightweight, flowy, versatile, you really can’t beat it when it comes to summer essentials.

Don’t you like the 70′s gunmetal van (you can’t tell in this photo…but it is!) and the 70′s muscle cars in the background? Oh yeah.

Yes, yes, yes. I love the belted look on you best. I’ve got Gap chambray from years ago (careful not to date myself there..har!) that I never got rid of and recently added a couple more pieces to update. A chambray shirt or even a denim shirt is such a great alternative to a jacket when it’s that in-betweenish type weather. Great post!
