We all know that deconstructed jeans, with distressing and bleaching and rips and holes have been around for a while. The trend is sticking around for Spring 2013 – and moving from distressed skinnies and boyfriend jeans to jackets, vests and shirts, too.
Here are three pieces I’m excited to work into my spring denim wardrobe:
Vest: This insanely cool vest from Washborn will make the perfect layering piece for the upcoming transitional season. Wear it over a sweater and under your coat now for fresh layering, and in the warmer months over feminine dresses and paired with printed jeans. [Hot tip: All of Washborn’s distressed denim pieces (jacket, boyfriend jeans) are priced under $120!]
Shirt: To be fair, I’ve been in love with this Eden denim shirt from Paige since I first saw a peek of it at their spring preview months ago. It’s going to look excellent with black jeans now, layered under my vintage fur coat, and still feel fresh in the spring and summer worn open over blouses, dresses or even my swim suit at the beach!
Jacket: I’ve never been a big fan of fitted-and-cropped denim jackets, and this J Brand ‘Broken In Boyfriend’ jacket is the perfect alternative. The silhouette is relaxed and the detailing is very tough-girl chic.
Will you be wearing a lot of distressed denim this spring?
*If you’re someone who wants to keep your distressing strictly to jeans, these Current / Elliott cropped skinnies are definitely my favorite new style for this season.
