Dressing Up the Denim Jacket with Chelsea Netzband

Want to know a secret? Well, I just purchased my very first denim jacket – yesterday… I’m completely ashamed to admit this… I’ve always meant to get one, but just hadn’t found the right fit until now. There is however, a reason why I decided that finding one would be my sole purpose for at least yesterday’s shopping trip. The reason being is that I always admire how other people wear their denim jackets; and, the other day, I met with Chelsea Netzband of Cynthia Vincent who just so happened to be wearing her denim jacket in a dressier sort of way that I admired. And this, my friends, is what newly inspired my search for one as well.

Chelsea’s personal style is cool and eclectic. Every time I see her, I always am blown away by her bohemian, light and flowy flair to the point that I wanted to share her style with all of you. Here’s how you too can dress up your denim jacket:

  • The Top: Pair your jacket with a dressier top. In Chelsea’s case, she wore a silk Cynthia Vincent top adorned with beads. You could even wear a dress – I’m all about the maxi dress lately.
  • The Bottoms: If you choose to wear pants and you want to stick to more denim go for the sleek route. If you wear a pair that is fitted with a crisp wash like the Seven For All Mankind skinny jean in rinsed indigo your look will automatically seem more dressed up. Or, you could wear a maxi length skirt like Chelsea.
  • The Details: Pay attention to detail. By adding layered jewelry you can give your basic denim a little something extra.
  • The Shoes: Dress up your feet with a pair of your favorite heels or wedges and you’re set.
