Despite their crazy popularity and multitudes of iterations, you don’t really see me wearing too much printed denim on this blog. (A few examples, though, are here, here, here and here.) Though I love the innovation, sometimes my personal style is just a bit more played down. Subtle.
I’ve long been a fan of Paige Denim, especially the comfort and fit of their Verdugo ultra skinny jeans. When they graciously sent me their feather print version for me to try, I was immediately drawn to the unique but not-totally-over-the-top print.
Oh, stretch denim. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways… 98% cotton and 2% elastane means that classic denim feel with a little bit of give. The printing method on these jeans also gives them a velvet-like feel to the touch, which, if you ask me is never a bad thing. These are basically jean-leggings, but they have classic 5-pocket styling and a mid-rise 8-inch inseam.
These are skinny, skinny jeans. Pulling these on for the first time was quite an experience, but once I buttoned them up and took a few lunges around the apartment, I felt great (helloooo elastane!). They are ultra-fitted through down to the ankle, which will make them perfect for tucking into booties and knee-high boots in the colder months.
You know me, I love flats and a good button-down. I enjoy print mixing, but despite my thought that this pattern is more subdued, it’s definitely busy. For that reason, I kept everything else in my look low key: soft olive shirt, silver flats and a little pop of red on my lips.
*Jeans were a gift of the brand.
