Okay I admit it – I am hugely obsessed with floral print jeans. After traipsing around Chelsea in those Citizens of Humanity floral jeans last week, I couldn’t resist another pair. The girls at Paige were kind enough to send me these floral Skyline Ankle Peg skinny jeans for Fashion Week, and now my affair with pretty, spring-y jeans is solidified.
For those of you scratching your head, wondering why it’s even relevant to review another pair of floral jeans, take note: if you’re going to dabble in novelty denim, it’s imperative that you have your most flattering fit. There’s nothing less becoming on a woman that jeans that look like their wearing her, not the other way around.
I’m a big fan of Paige (see here and here), so I was really excited to try out their version of this denim trend. The Skyline Ankle Peg is a skinny jean that doesn’t taper much at the ankle, and crops slightly. They’re fine with flats (as I’m wearing them here) but they will really flatter with a heel or wedge. For me personally, Paige is one of the most flattering fits on my waist and butt. The pockets (higher and smaller than J Brand or Seven For All Mankind) even with a lower rise (these are 8″). The biggest difference between these and the Citizens of Humanity florals (aside from the color & print) is the fabric. This denim is thick and sturdy, where the CoH jeans felt almost like a twill. Come spring, these jeans will be perfection with breezy t-shirts and sandals, but for now they’re an unexpected pop of pattern to break up monotone, wintery looks.
Alright, so now that I’ve confessed my love for a good leg garden, what about you? Will you embrace the floral jean trend? How would you style them?
