Denim Review: MiH Paris Skinny Jeans

Summertime calls for light wash jeans. Believe it or not, it was something seriously lacking in my wardrobe. When I came across the MiH Paris Skinny Jeans in a cheery light wash, I had to have them, and they were nice enough to give me a pair at the Blogger Closet Raid. So much for getting rid of jeans!

While wide legged is a big trend, I’m finding it hard to find a pair that I feel comfortable in. As a petite, skinny jeans and straight leg jeans tend to be easier because the length is easier to manage (no rolling up a bell bottom!) and the silhouette is better. However, the jury is still out, maybe I’ll find me a pair of perfect bell bottoms.

The Denim

MiH’s Paris skinny jeans were a bit wider in the leg than many other skinny jeans out there, I’d call it more of a slouchy skinny. They have a more relaxed fit and casual feel about them. The mid-rise is perfect, in fact, I can’t imagine going any lower than a 8.5 rise without looking 2005. They’re soft, sturdy and I just can’t say enough about how happy this particular shade of blue is. Perfect for the pastel trends emerging this summer.

How to Wear

How to wear skinny jeans? How not to? That’s my question. To be honest, with the Paris style, I had the urge to roll them up. They have a easy-peasy summer vibe about them that required a good sloppy roll. I personally would only wear these with flats, which is why I dug out my Missoni pastel zig zag flats… they’re the perfect combination. These are certainly a day time denim, so wearing with a pretty blouse or a casual cardigan or anything certainly works. Lately, I’ve been into small handbags, and was given this Coach mini crossover bag… but anything light like a woven or a canvas bag will certainly bring out the most in these jeans.

I love that wash! It reminds me, for some reason, of Santa Barbara…I think becuase an old pair of CoH’s I had were in a similar wash called “Montecito”, but I don’t know.

As for the cut, I think I need to try these! I like the sloppy roll, too. I have a pair of Boyfriends from rich and skinny and I do the sloppy roll and add some heels actually, I like the look.

You should pair your nude repetto’s with these!

Also, as for a petite bell, that CoH came out with the Angie superflare in the MoonRiver wash in petite. I am dying to try those, but at $228/pair…I think Im going to wait it out through summer a little longer πŸ˜‰

We should grab coffee soon! (iced, now adays) πŸ™‚

I am loving these jeans! But I’m also searching for the perfect pair of bell bottoms – I’m short too, and they’re so hard to find in the right length!

“How to wear skinny jeans? How not to? That’s my question.” This may have just been entered into my little “wise and hilarious words from blog ladies” book. And I agree. Skinnies are versatile as a white tee, and this pair you have here is fantastic. Love them with the lace top.

However, as a tall and curvy girl, I’m also a lover of the wide-legs. I love the bell and how heels look emerging from underneath, sneaky beauty making itself known. Good thing I have you to remind me of why I should love all jeans. πŸ™‚
