Denim Review + Giveaway: MiH Marrakesh Kick Flare in Velvet

This week’s denim review comes with two special twists! First of all, the jeans I’m talking about aren’t even denim – they’re velvet. Second, ESD has partnered with MiH Jeans to give away a pair of velvets to one lucky reader! Just follow the link here and fill out your information. Now, let me get down to explaining why you may really, really want to win this little giveaway.

I mentioned a couple weeks back that I’m having a thing for flares lately (an affair, if you will). These MiH Marrakesh Kick Flares in ┬áblack velvet are taking the romance one step further. These pants are so soft, and have such a nice amount of stretch, that they feel like pajamas. They’re as appealing to the touch on the outside as they are on the inside.

The bell of the flare is dramatic but not costume-y (20 inches), but they definitely run a bit long. (The wedges I’m wearing are probably 4″ high, and I’ve been told I have longer-than-average legs for a gal of 5’6″.) The rise hits about an inch below my belly button, with welt pockets in the front and squared-off patch pockets in the back.

The Marrakesh has been a tremendously successful cut for MiH in all it’s various fabrications, and I can see why. They make me feel like my legs are a mile long. These particular velvet pants will be ideal come holiday season. I can see them pairing perfectly with a sparkling, sequined top and dressier shoes for cocktail parties and Christmas Eve dinner. For day-to-day, a chunky, stable wedge makes them easily wearable for work, weekends and, well, basically anything else.

Again, here’s the link to enter the giveaway! Good Luck!

They are really cute. I love that velvet is something totally trendy, but unexpected at the same time.
