Grr baby, very grr. That’s what I said to myself the minute I put these jeans on. Much like my girl Alicia over at Cheetah Is The New Black, I have a thing for all things animal print, but until recently I didn’t file denim into that collection of things.
What appeals to me about these Current/Elliott Stilletto Skinny jeans (in Camel Cheetah) is the way that somehow, they aren’t as loud as they should be. The pattern is faded and muted just enough to be bold but not obnoxious. The denim is nice and thick, with enough give to make them quite comfortable. The rise feels lower than any jeans I’ve bought in ages, but with a shirt tucked in, this makes my torso look a little longer, which I like.
I was wildly excited to try out these jeans, but I’ll be straight with you all: Current / Elliott jeans are not my best fit. They just really square off my derriere in a way I don’t prefer. However, these are definitely my favorite version of an animal print jean, and I love the cropped length and softness of the denim.
I’m loving the idea of printed denim right now mostly because it makes putting together a fun and unique outfit so easy. Think about it: How many simple, solid-color shirts and sweaters do you own? Since leopard is a new neutral, throwing on any color of top (or layering two hues) will work amazingly. For example, I love the fall palette that this deep wine, red and cheetah create together.
Have you tried out the printed denim trend yet? Would you rock a pair of cheetah print jeans?
