Denim Review: 7 For All Mankind ‘Josefina’

When the boyfriend jean trend first emerged a few years ago, I was very hesitant to give them a try. My usual denim style (and my style in general) leans towards a much more tailored and slim silhouette. When I tried on most pairs, I found that my figure was lost in a distressed wash sea of folds and gapping. Baggy just wasn’t for me.
Recently though, I tried out these 7 For All Mankind ‘Josefina’ boyfriend jeans. The distressing was evident but not obnoxious, the wash is medium, and they fit me with just the right amount of give – the perfect balance between slouchy and slim. I usually roll them up twice to keep that boyfriend look, but the small-ish leg opening maintains a fitted feeling.

To avoid looking stumpy when I’m out on the streets of New York City, I’d pair these jeans with a wedge and either a fitted top, or something I can tuck in. They are definitely ‘weekend jeans,’ and would be be perfect for spur-the-moment brunches and all-day errands with ballet flats and a men’s button down shirt.

Can I just say, I love this whole outfit. It is simply chic!! And OMG, I am dying over that necklace. Where did you find that piece?
I love the idea of the boyfriend jean in theory for the comfort factor, but I’ve never been able to find a pair that was just right. These jeans are great although they don’t have the usual boyfriend jean slouchy look.

I’ve had the same issues finding a boyfriend jean that didn’t make me look like I was just wearing jeans 3 times too big for me. These look nice on you and that necklace is insane! Love it!

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your great comments! My necklace was actually a thrift store find back in Seattle. I cannot be completely sure, but the store owner thought it was BCBG, and so not nearly as vintage as it looks. It’s probably my favorite bauble in my jewelry box.
