I’d like to expand my horizons with a little bit of colored denim, reasoning is three fold. One, spring has (finally) arrived; two, I’ve manged to have quite the dismal color palette this winter; and three, I need a new pair of not so normal blue jeans.
Last week, Monday to be specific, I had a hankering for the Cheap Monday denim jacket as you may know. I also dubbed a 3pt Monday series after visiting the Cheap Monday showroom and this, my dears, is part duex. So, as promised, Adding Color to Your Wash is the topic of the day.
Stated above, you see why this is so pertinent for seasonal transitioning – you know, stepping away from the norm and sprucing up our wardrobes. While visiting the sea of denim in the Cheap Monday showroom, a couple of pairs stood out to me most. I’ve been contemplating whether or not I need a to own some red-ish denim for quite some time, but I believe these colors sealed the deal for me even more so then just your basic red.
If you’re going to veer off from your generic blue jean, why not have some fun and do something drastic? I’m leaning towards the shade on the right…. however, I envision these pairs with something like a white T by Alex Wang top, layered necklaces, a leather jacket with quilted details and either some chuck’s or a pair of black Corky’s (yes, I know these somewhat resemble orthopedics, but I can’t help it – I’m just in love with them) with fun socks depending on my mood. How do you do colored denim?
