Fall Forward: J Brand Ready-To-Wear

It’s been an exciting year for J Brand. With the launch of their ready-to-wear collection, they’ve made the leap from denim brand to fashion powerhouse – delivering modern, slick pieces with season-less appeal that pair as well with their denim collections as with your own current wardrobe staples.

The imagery for the Fall 2012 campaign was shot by Craig McDean, and calls to mind a too-cool downtown girl, one who’s got sophisticated taste and a trend-conscious attitude. Ugh, don’t you just want to be such a woman? I know I do – especially when the chillier months roll around and we return to the whole layering-as-an-art-form thing.

My dream piece would have to be the Aggy leather pants – they’d be so perfect with a chambray shirt and some great baubles, no? I also love the so simple and chic Antoinetta dress – a classic jersey sheath with serious grown-up appeal.

    I like J Brand’s new collection a lot. However, I am really stumped as to why they are priced so high. There is a moto jacket I’ve liked on Shopbop but it is $895. I would think that J Brand, being premium denim brand, but still affordable luxury at around $200 per pair, would have priced their line a little more accessibly. To me their jacket should be half that price. If you take a look at the very successful Rag & Bone line, you can get jackets in the $400-500 range. Yes they have pricier ones but they are made with pricier materials such as leather. Plus Rag & Bone is Made in the USA! J Brand — go take a look at what they’re doing over at Rag & Bone.
