Glamour editor and plus-size model Lauren Chan was tired of unbuttoning the top button of her jeans halfway through dinner. So she sought out a better denim option—one that was NOT the typically skinny, ultra-stretchy version usually created for plus-size women.
She landed at 3×1’s custom denim shop in Manhattan, where you can create jeans in any size with any fabric you like. “We once made a pair with a 60-inch waist,” said 3×1 founder Scott Morrison.
After creating three prototypes, Chan and Morrison chose a straight-leg silhouette, incorporating the brand’s signature “channel seam” inseam, with a hidden compression panel using stretch pocketing to support and control in all the right places. It’s made in a vintage wash using copper buttons and zipper.
She looks amazing in them—my only complaint is that they don’t come in my size!
You can pre-order the $255 jeans now and they’ll ship on July 31.
