Jerome Dahan might fairly be called the king of denim. Not only is he the designer behind Citizens of Humanity, but even before that he co-founded the brand that kicked off the designer denim craze in the ’90s: 7 for All Mankind. More recently, he founded Agolde. Going back 30 years, he was involved in the denim industry with his father as a teen and there are few in any misses on his denim resume.
The Paris born, Montreal-bred designer has called Los Angeles home for decades now, and he has launched another new brand: Jean Atelier. The brand doesn’t yet have its own website, and is available exclusively at Barneys New York and Forward by Elyse Walker,
And while the prices may be steep, some of the designs have me really excited. First, the seamed vest/bellbottom combo above is nearly a replica of my favorite outfit in third grade (evidence here, minus vest). Second, there’s a “wedding skirt” (see above). That’s all I really need to know!
