CFDA Fashion Fund Finalist Matthew Adams Dolan Focuses on Denim

When Vogue asked him to describe his brand in three words, Matthew Adams Dolan replied: “Easy, denim, and legacy—I’m really interested in how American style has developed throughout history.”

Dolan is a finalist for the 2918 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award, which is granted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The fund was launched in in 1962, and members include 500 of America’s top womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers. The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was developed in 2003 to boost the careers of emerging fashion design talent with a $400,000 award. Two runners up receive $150,000 each.

Obviously, we’re rooting for Dolan, as he has the most denim in his collections of any of the nominees. Not that we’re biased or anything!

The winner will be announced on November 5 at an awards ceremony.
