MiH Fall 2011 Preview

by Jennine Jacob

When I opened up the box to get my first pair of MiH Marakesh Kickfare jeans, it was love. Crisp, clean wash, the cutest bird on the pocket, rose gold hardware. Perfect flare, vintage style pocketing and high waist. They’re my favorite flared jeans. Last week we stopped by the MiH show room to get a look up close and personal at the fall collection.

If you’re in love with MiH’s vintage feel, it’s because owner, Chloe Lonsdale, comes from denim family. Parents married in denim, had a label called ‘Heaven’ started in 1969 created the heritage styles like the Marakesh Kickflare. Many of the styles are named after cities, blending the 70′s bohemian chic with 21st century comfort and fit.

The fall collection continues a lot of the heritage styles with cleaner washes and natural look distressing, wiskering and novelty washes. They branched out in the softest corduroy Tokyo Slouch Pants, and the most comfortable Vienna Super Skinny Jeans… with rich dyes. They say the Vienna is not a denim legging, but I tried them on and they feel very much like a denim legging (I love denim leggings!). Anywho… in my opinion, MiH is one of my top favorite denim brands like J Brand, Current/Elliott and Rag & Bone all for the classic takes they take on modern denim.  They’re truly worth checking out if you haven’t already.
